Why do my products show “Sold out” in a new market?

When products show “Sold out” only in a new market, your stock is usually fine. The store can't deliver that stock to the market's countries, so it treats the products as unavailable there. Check these in order.

1. A shipping zone for the market's countries

Open Settings > Shipping and delivery, then each profile your products use. Some zone must include the new market's countries and have at least one rate. Adding a market doesn't add those countries to your shipping zones. With market-driven shipping, look instead under Markets, then the market, in its Shipping section: it needs at least one active option.

2. A location that ships there and holds stock

The location with the stock must ship to the market's countries. If your stock sits at a location that only serves your home zone, the new market has nothing to ship from.

3. The market's products

Open Markets, then the new market. Under Catalogs, open the market's catalog and check that it includes the products.

4. Market-driven shipping

Shopify is moving shipping settings into Markets. Stores can opt in from 1 October 2026, and all stores move by 1 July 2027 (Shopify staff post). After the move, rates are set per market, and each product needs a rate in that market that includes it.

Confirm

Preview the storefront with one of the market's countries selected, then start a new checkout to that country.

Before and after the move

Gapscout is a read-only app. It lists products and countries that get no shipping rate, in each market and shipping profile. On a paid plan, it also compares your rates before and after the move to market-driven shipping. Install it before you switch, so there's a “before” to compare. See Gapscout on the Shopify App Store.
